According to Make Lemonade, there are more than 44 million american borrowers who collectively owe $1.5 trillion in student loan debt. The average student in the Class of 2016 has $37,172 in student loan debt.

It’s not just in the USA! “Which?” recently reported that UK student loan debt is at £100.5 billion, with the average graduate leaving university with £50,000 of debt.

So is it worth the debt cost? MOBOPINIONS asked over 600 people in the UK and 1,800 in the USA “was taking on student debt worth it for the education you received?”

In the USA of those who expressed a view 68% of 18-24 year old’s  and 58% of 25-44 year old’s said YES the loans are worth it.

In the UK the feeling despite the higher debt was even stronger with 80% of 18-24 year old’s  and 77% of 25-44 saying YES  the loans are worth the cost.
